Most divers want to explore more of the dive sites here on Oahu or abroad, but usually lack the training and experience to do it safely. All of the wrecks on Oahu are at least 25 meters/80 feet deep and are considered deep dives by dive industry standards. Unfortunately, far too many divers with only beginner certification training and very little total diving experience tempt fate by following their more experienced friends on deep dives (we call this “Trust Me” diving). This can quickly turn in to disaster as the unprepared, inexperienced diver comes face to face with a problem at depth that he/she has no idea how to solve. To make matters worse, these divers are actually going inside of these wrecks and can easily become entangled, lost, run out of air… everything bad.
The Deep Diver and Wreck Diver combined course teaches the diver to properly plan for deep dives, proper equipment for deep diving, proper equipment for wreck diving, wreck dive site surveying, proper gas planning and emergency procedures.
Cost for the course is $450 per diver and includes e-Learning and certification cards.
